This free printable 20×20 multiplication chart is one our most download charts, and I think I know why!

Once kids get past the standard 1-12 times tables, there aren’t a lot of good options for what’s next. This 20×20 chart fills that gap, a full reference from 1×1 to 20×20, no gaps, no shortcuts.

Printable 20x20 multiplication chart.

Still working through the basics? Start with theΒ 12×12 chartΒ first. Once this one feels easy, theΒ 30×30 chartΒ is the next size up.

Got a younger sibling still building number sense? Our hundreds chart is a better place for them to start.

At this size, the chart works less like a memorization tool and more like a reference kids check while working through bigger problems.

Keep it nearby during math time rather than expecting full memorization of every single fact.

Teacher Tip: this is the chart I hand out the day we start long division with two-digit divisors. Kids get stuck guessing “does 17 go into 68 four times or five times?” Instead of letting them spiral, point them to the 17 row. Problem solved, momentum kept.

Lesson plan idea: for an enrichment group, give students five minutes to circle every multiple of 17 on the grid. Have them explain the pattern to a partner. Zero setup, genuinely good five-minute filler. πŸ™Œ

  • Reference during long division:Β kids working on division with larger numbers can check their multiplication step against this chart instead of guessing.
  • Pattern hunts:Β have students find every multiple of a number, like circling every 13 across the whole grid, to build pattern recognition.
  • Classroom wall poster:Β works well as a permanent reference for upper elementary or middle school math corners, since it stays useful for years.
  • Mental math speed checks:Β call out two numbers under 20 and time how fast a student can find the answer, then verify against the chart.
  • Prime number hunt:Β have older kids shade in the rows and columns for prime numbers only, a sneaky-fun intro to a bigger math concept. πŸ”

Print it, tape it up, and watch it quietly become the most-used poster in the room. πŸ“Œ
