As a K-12 teacher, I designed this free printable elementary school academic planner with parents, teachers, and students in mind.

It is gender-neutral and adorable, making it perfect for elementary students of all ages and is made just for elementary school students so it feels age-appropriate without being babyish.

Why Undated Planners are Better:

Ultimate Flexibility: Start using them any time. There is no need to wait for a specific date. Perfect for those with fluctuating schedules.

Environmental Friendliness: No wasted pages 🥳! Use the entire planner until it’s finished rather than having to discard unused dated months.

Efficient: Download once and reuse it infinitely.

Customizable: Fill in the times & dates yourself based on your needs rather than a one-size-fits-all dated format.

Parents and teachers can help students stay organized by completing the daily schedule, year-at-a-glance, and monthly pages with important dates, reminders, and information. As students get older, they can begin filling this information in themselves.

Each month has a doodle page with plenty of space to doodle. This is a spot for students to create a monthly drawing or be free to scribble uninhibited, which encourages them to visit the monthly pages so they don’t miss anything.

Finally, I created the student weekly pages:

  • Here, students can track the month, dates, and reading minutes for the week and write their assignments in big boxes with lots of space to write.
  • Each weekday box has wide-ruled writing lines for beginner writers.
  • The accompanying Communication Log has a corresponding color for each day of the week. This is where parents, teachers, and support can write notes, questions, and feedback for the week.

If you’re looking for something less juvenile, my middle school or simple academic planners are great for older elementary students.

  • At the start of the year, sit with your child or students to fill in the daily schedule and add important dates on the yearly and monthly pages.
  • Show students how to write homework, projects, and reading minutes in the big boxes on each weekly spread so everything stays in one place.
  • Use the communication log each day for quick notes between home and school about behavior, questions, or reminders.
  • Encourage kids to use the doodle pages as a creative outlet—sketching, coloring, or jotting ideas during free time.
  • Have students check their planner at the beginning and end of each school day so it becomes part of their routine.
  • For absences or missed work, record make-up assignments directly in that week’s boxes so nothing gets overlooked.
