What You’ll Need
Here’s what most teachers use to set up their DIY calendar:
- Printed calendar kit (choose your favorite theme)
- Laminator (optional for durability)
- Velcro dots, tape, or magnets
- Whiteboard or bulletin board
- Scissors or paper cutter
- Optional: mini storage box or envelope for extra cards
How to Set It Up
1️⃣ Choose your theme and print the full calendar kit
2️⃣ Trim and laminate your cards for long-term use
3️⃣ Use Velcro dots, tape, or magnets to attach each piece to your board
4️⃣ Arrange:
- Days of the week across the top
- Calendar numbers in a grid (usually 5–6 rows)
- Month card above
- Weather chart and “Today is…” cards nearby
5️⃣ Store extra pieces (like special days or alternate months) in a labeled envelope.
Use It All Year Long!
You can easily swap out cards seasonally without redoing your whole display. Just change the month and numbers, and rotate in new weather or holiday cards when needed.
